Multiple Disadvantage Day – 3rd July 2019
The National Communications Group (NCG) is launching a dedicated Multiple Disadvantage Day! The NCG is made up of a group of colleagues from all 12 Fulfilling Lives projects – including WY-FI. Other attendees include MEAM (Making Every Adult Matter), The National Lottery Community Fund and Expert Citizens.
The first Multiple Disadvantage Day will take place on Wednesday 3rd July 2019. It is intended that the day will provide a focus each year to campaign for change, and the 2019 day is the first step in providing a national voice for the work of the Fulfilling Lives Programme.
The Aim of the First Multiple Disadvantage Day
To support a key Fulfilling Lives Programme aim to reduce stigma, by increasing awareness and understanding of complex needs amongst a wide audience; educating people as to why a person may experience multiple and complex needs.
It is hoped that through generating awareness, the Fulfilling Lives Programme will become a ‘go to’ point of contact for requests of evidence and recommendations in relation to complex needs and complex systems. The NCG will be developing further campaign work in the first half of 2019. This work will consider the key messages and asks the Fulfilling Lives Programme would like to communicate, once the Multiple Disadvantage Day campaign has given it a platform to do so.
There will be lots of communication activity in the weeks leading up to the day, including information on what’s happening across all five WY-FI localities and how you can get involved.
